The problem with piracy(not on the seas) has been so much for some companies that much of their profits from legal sales are lost which has prompted many governments around the world to enact laws with severe penalties to those proven to have participation in such cases. From music, video, e-books and everything else in between all have been preyed upon by pirates who share them uncontrollably, mostly through the many FTP servers all over the globe.
In Europe, the much known global leader Pirate Bay has four people who are under scrutiny for their participation in the said FTP site with conviction expected. Europe is a haven to these big FTP sites due to lax laws but not anymore, for they are already working on laws that will bolster previously ineffective laws that would require ISP’s to reveal the addresses and names of servers suspected of piracy on the internet. Once found, these sites will automatically be shut-down and the equipment confiscated for forensics examination (computer forensics) to determine the extent of their work, people identified will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law which is already causing much discomfort in most FTP circles.
